The Establishment Of Khyber Pukthun Khawa Sports Academies:

The trust started providing services in the field of sports and games. In a meeting chaired by the Governor Khyber Pukhtun Khwa and Chief Patron Owais Ahmad Ghani, the decision was taken that in all the districts of the province academies for under 16 players be established. Soon implementation of this decision was started. Under the circumstances when in the entire province, the activities of terrorists was on the rise, suicide attacks were taking place, everywhere panic and insecurity was noticeable but the Malik Saad Memorial Sports Trust prepared a new generation of players without any favour or fear to occupy the playfields. On the one side they were induced to take part in sports activities and on the other hand character building of the players was kept in view. Thereby the establishment of hockey academy in Swabi, was the first step towards that decision. A large number of people participated in the inaugural ceremony. Malik Naveed Khan, the trust chairman, properly declared the opening ceremony.


For the first time the players were awarded 25 hockey sticks and uniform free of cost. They were also provided balls for the hockey games. The same day another hockey academy was established in district Buner. There too the enthusiasm of the players and the general public was noteworthy. In Swat hockey, volley ball and football academies were established. In Peshawar hockey and cricket in Nowshera football and volley ball, in Abbotabad hockey, football and basket ball while in Tehsil Havellian hockey and cricket academies were established. Last year in Haripur academies for volley ball, hockey, basket ball, and cricket were established in two stages. In Mardan cricket, football and volley ball while in Dir (lower) cricket and volley ball academies started their work. In the Southern districts functions were held for establishment of sports academies. In Dera Ismail Khan football, table tennis and in Lakki Marwat football, in Kohat football and in Bannu hockey and volleyball academies also started their functions.


Such academies were not only established in the administrative districts but also such activities were extended to the federally administered areas and in Khyber Agency tehsil Jamrud a colorful function was held for establishment of cricket and football academies through which the trust passed its message of love and affection to all the players of tribal areas.
